यो उखानले व्यक्तिको ज्ञान, बुद्धि वा चासो उसको आफ्नो पेशा वा दैनिक कामसँग मात्र सम्बन्धित र सीमित हुन्छ भन्ने जनाउँछ। जसरी गोठालोको ध्यान भैँसी र त्यसको दूध दुहुने कुरामा केन्द्रित हुन्छ, त्यसरी नै अरु मानिसहरु पनि आफ्नो कार्यक्षेत्रभन्दा बाहिरका कुरामा कम जानकार वा चासो नराख्ने हुन सक्छन्।
